Waggy Tails policy is to have a group size of no more than four dogs at any one time. I will also ensure that for group walks dogs will be matched with others of a suitable temperament and location as to minimise time spent travelling.
Group walks are a fantastic way to socialise your dog and build their confidence and they gain greatly from this social aspect of their walks. Whether or not your dog is allowed off the lead will be up to you, if you are happy for them to be able to properly stretch their legs then so am I, however a consent form will need to be signed, and of course I will need to be aware of their recall command.
All walks are for a minimum of an hour, not including pick up and drop off. If your dog requires longer or shorter walks I can tailor a solo walk to your specific requirements. I will leave a report card at the end of each walk so when you get home you know when and where your doggie went that day, which of their friends they got to hang out with and what they enjoyed the most. I will also take photographs and short videos which I can share with you via social media, so you can see those waggy tails in action.
Daily group walks are generally carried out between 10am and 3pm and I will always endeavour to walk as near to any requested time as possible. I can also provide evening walks and also at weekends, please see the services page for a full list of prices. I am more than happy to discuss your particular requirements and will do my very best to fit in with your needs.
All walks are carried out in parks and green spaces where it is safe and interesting for your dog, with lots of things to sniff and plenty of room to stretch their legs – and of course wag their tails. They will always be in a safe environment away from any roads, children and, as much as possible, other dog walkers. Wymondham has lots of amazing places for walks and I will vary the locations in order to provide variety for your dog. If you have any particular preferences, or places you’d perhaps like me to avoid I will be happy to discuss these with you at your introductory meeting. My van is fully insured and kitted out with dog crates with non-slip mats, blankets and access to water at all times.
Yes. If your dog is very nervous, or perhaps sometimes aggressive around other dogs then I can provide solo walks, please see the prices page for the additional cost for these. However one of the biggest benefits of group dog walking is how much it can improve your dog’s socialisation. Therefore if your dog is nervous but non-aggressive, and of course with your full agreement, we can start off with solo walks and then slowly introduce him/ her to an appropriate group of friendly dogs, a little bit at a time.
No, as long as it is OK with you I will ask you for a spare key which I am happy to hold securely for you, enabling me to collect and drop of your dog while you’re not at home. I am fully criminal record checked and will show you my documentation when we meet for the first time. All keys are kept in a secure location and will never be marked with anything other than the name of your dog.
In an emergency I will contact you immediately in the first instance to discuss the situation. If I am unable to contact you, or your alternative contact, and urgent medical attention is required I will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice or alternatively the nearest vet depending on the circumstances. The health, happiness and wellbeing of your pet is the most important thing to me and please be assured I will treat your dog, cat, guinea pig, iguana etc. with the love and care that I would my own – though don’t worry, I promise I will give them back at the end of my time with them!
Of course. Whether you need your dog walked three times a day, every day, or just on their birthday (so seven times a year for doggies) I am very happy to offer walks that suit your needs and am very flexible when it comes to booking. A text, email or phone call the day before will ensure a walk is booked or cancelled, though please note there is a £3 charge for any same day booking (for this purpose the ‘day’ starts at midnight).
Yes, definitely. I will always arrange a free-of-charge introductory meeting with you and your little furry friend at your home to discuss your requirements prior to walks taking place. This is a great opportunity for you to meet me and ask any questions you may have, and also of course for me to meet and start to get to know your dog as hopefully we’ll be spending a lot of time together! When you first contact me I will arrange this meeting for a time that is convenient for you.
Yes, absolutely. Waggy Tails of Wymondham has full public liability insurance with Cliveton Insurance which covers walking whilst in my care, however the company cannot be held liable for any loss, injury, illness or death of the dog. It is strongly recommended that owners have their own full insurance cover for their pets. Should any legal or other claim be made against your dog whilst in the care of Waggy Tails of Wymondham, legally all costs will be covered by the owner. All staff are criminal record (DBS) checked.
No. I will invoice in arrears and send invoices at the end of the month for that month’s services. I accept payment by cash, bank transfer and direct debit.
I’m afraid so yes, it may be a case of health and safety gone mad, but I’m afraid I don’t make the rules. Oh, and armadillos will need to have their nasal hair regularly plucked. Thank you for your co-operation.
